The Overview Effect

A modular performance inspired by the shift in perception reported by astronauts when observing Earth from space. A moment where distance transforms not only what is seen, but how it is understood.

The piece unfolds through a hybrid system combining Eurorack, OP-Z, and Ableton Live, where structured elements and unstable modulation coexist. The melodic performance is played live and loosely explores a sense of reduced gravity — not as a literal representation, but as a subtle attempt to emulate the feeling of movement and weight beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
