Inspection of the Brain and Spine Center of the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC)

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inspected the newly opened Brain and Spine Center at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on May 15, 2026.

In his remarks, the President underscored the Administration’s commitment to establishing additional specialty healthcare centers nationwide, citing lessons from the nation’s experience during the pandemic.

“Marami tayong nakikita na mga kaso na hindi na umabot sa ospital at dahil walang specialty hospital na kagaya nito, walang malaking ospital. At kung mayroon mang ospital na malapit, puno na. At mayroong mga namatay na kung may ospital lang sana, ay baka nabuhay pa,” he said.

The three-storey center features an Acute Stroke Unit, a Neurosurgery Complex, a Neurophysiology Unit, and Advanced Diagnostic Services. It is equipped with 30 beds and two (2) operating room theaters. Patients may also benefit from the Zero Balance Billing (ZBB) program, which allows eligible patients to access certain medical services without incurring out-of-pocket expenses during their stay.

The establishment of the Brain and Spine Center reflects the government’s commitment to making advanced healthcare accessible to every Filipino.
