Putting a zip into the front of a pre-made dress - Professional Tips and Tutorial

I was recently asked by a friend to put a short zip into one of her pre-made dresses. For me, this was quite a brain teaser as there were a few aspects I had to take into consideration. My friend was delighted with the finished look which is what the project was really all about.
