Expanding functionality of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic materials

Light-weighting in the automotive sector is acknowledged as highly efficient in lowering emissions and contributing to ride quality. Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic (CFRT) composites increasingly replace engineering metals. We present the DSM CFRT portfolio and illustrate the market response, citing successful applications. We conclude by emphasizing technology partnerships in the industry as key to establishing a cost-effective supply chain for composites in the industry.
