World Economic Forum: Food and Nutrition Security

The World Economic Forum session on "Transforming life chances by nourishing bodies and minds" brought together leaders from business, government, science and NGOs to explore sustainable solutions to negate the wide reaching consequences of malnutrition and stunting.

A diverse panel of Ertharin Cousin (WFP), Kevin Jenkins (World Vision), David Nabarro (UN), Paul Polman (Unilever), Marc van Ameringen (GAIN), Feike Sijbesma (DSM) and New York Times' columnist Nick Kristof, identified new opportunities for innovative action and cross sector partnerships. The outcome of the event will be used for input for the upcoming global summits, such as the G20 and G8 summits.

At the event the World Food Programme and DSM signed an agreement to extend the existing partnership. Together we will seek to double the number of people who benefit from our work, from the current annual reach of 15 million to 25-30 million per year by 2015.
