- Lee Quigley tinha só 7 meses quando fez o papel do bebê Kal-El, versão mais nova de Superman. Ele morreu tragicamente em março de 1991, aos 14 anos, depois de inalar solventes.
Lee Quigley was just 7 months old when he played baby Kal-El, the younger version of Superman. He tragically died in March 1991, at the age of fourteen, after inhaling solvents.

- Clark Kent e Superman partem o cabelo pra lados opostos.
Clark Kent and Superman's hair part on opposite sides.

- Pra manter a continuidade, Christopher Reeve dublou todos os diálogos de Jeff East, como Clark Kent jovem. A voz de Jeff nunca é ouvida durante o filme.
To maintain on-screen continuity, Christopher Reeve dubbed all of Jeff East's dialogue as young Clark Kent. East's voice is never heard during the film.

- Christopher Reeve era um ator desconhecido na época. Os créditos e quase todos os trailers do filme listavam Marlon Brando e Gene Hackman antes dele, que fez o Superman.

- Carrie Fisher, saída do sucesso de Guerra nas Estrelas (1977), Shirley MacLaine, Liza Minnelli, Christina Raines, Barbra Streisand e Natalie Wood foram consideradas para o papel de Lois Lane.
Jennifer Jason Leigh foi considerada também, mas os produtores a recusaram, pq ela era muito nova.
Jessica Lange recusou os papéis de Lois e Eve Teschmacher.
Goldie Hawn foi a 1ª escolha para o papel de Eve. Quando Goldie pediu muito dinheiro, Donner chamou Ann-Margret, que tb pediu muito.

- Foi oferecido o papel de Superman a Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood e James Caan. Os 3 recusaram: Robert queria muito dinheiro, Clint disse estar muito ocupado e James disse: De jeito nenhum vou usar essa roupa idiota.
Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood and James Caan were all offered the movie's title role. All 3 turned it down: Redford wanted too much money, Eastwood said he was too busy, and Caan said, "There's no way I'm getting into that silly suit."

- Ofereceram a Reeve (mas ele recusou), 2 papéis que foram pra Schwarzenegger: O Sobrevivente (1987) & O Vingador do Futuro (1990).
Reeve was offered (but turned down) two roles that went to Schwarzenegger: The Running Man (1987) & Total Recall (1990).

- Jeff East, Clark adolescente, fez teste para o papel dele como adulto. Tb fez para o papel de Jimmy Olsen.

- Dustin Hoffman recusou o papel de Lex.
