High value/low carbon in Troll phase 3
Troll phase 3 is a historically profitable project with a break-even price of under 10 dollars/barrel, and with low operational CO2 emissions due to power from shore. This is a true high-value/low-carbon project building on existing infrastructure and good planning. When the initial Troll platform was constructed in the 1990s, they prepared an extra connection in the shaft for a future project, and in the spring of 2020 we used this connection when the world’s largest pipelaying vessel Solitaire installed the 26-km, 36-inch pipeline between Troll A and the two new templates in the Troll phase 3 project.
