‘There We Go’ – Lifting 25,000 tonnes in 9 seconds | Brent Bravo Lift

Standing in the heart of the North Sea, Brent Bravo spent four decades producing oil and gas for the homes and businesses of Europe.

But the end of its service presented perhaps the biggest challenge of all: how do you lift the roughly 25,000-tonne topside of an oil and gas platform so you can deliver it from a hostile sea to a safe place for recycling?

The answer was to combine cutting-edge technology and the world’s largest ship in the extraordinary lift of the Brent Bravo.
