Tropical depression could approach Taiwan over weekend

Central Weather Administration (CWA) forecaster Chen Pei-an reported that the 14th tropical depression of the year formed on Sept. 10 and may intensify into Tropical Storm Bebinca, potentially bringing heavy rain to Taiwan over the weekend. The storm is forecasted to pass north of Taiwan, over the Ryukyu Islands. A low-pressure belt could also lead to the formation of additional tropical storms. Northern and northeastern Taiwan are expected to see heavy rainfall, while central and southern regions will experience intermittent rain. The storm's impact on Taiwan will be clearer in the next few days.
