Northern Taiwan exhibition pays tribute to bonfire fishing heritage

The Yehliu Visitor Center is hosting an exhibition on bonfire fishing, a traditional Taiwanese method, from Aug. 9 to 30. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event offers bilingual tours on weekends. The exhibition delves into the history, culture, and equipment for bonfire fishing, recognized as an intangible cultural heritage. Additionally, visitors can join boat tours to experience night fishing, visit Huanggang Fishing Village, and hike the Jinbaoli Trail. The exhibition seeks to raise awareness and preserve this unique cultural tradition.
