🔥⚒️ The Gutbuster’s Charge ⚒️🔥
🩸💥 Battlerager Thibbledorf Pwent Song 💥🩸
Following this month’s theme of WRATH, I knew I didn’t want to go with the usual, obvious barbarian picks. Wrath doesn’t always mean rage without thought — sometimes it’s obsession, joy in battle, and total commitment to violence. And for me, there is only one character who truly embodies that: the battlerager, the Gutbuster, the fiercest warrior of Bruenor Battlehammer — Thibbledorf Pwent.
Pwent was always an anomaly to me. He wasn’t just angry — he was emotional to the extreme. When sad, deeply sad. When happy, overwhelmingly happy. When angry… utterly unstoppable. His fighting style was just as strange: grappling, hugging, and wrestling enemies to death, grinding them into the spikes of his armor until they were nothing but minced meat. Savage. Personal. Joyful.
I didn’t like him at first. But over time, Pwent grew on me — right alongside that other rhyming menace, Athrogate. There’s something honest about dwarves who lean fully into what they are.
Short anecdote:
The Gutbuster Brigade was founded by Bruenor Battlehammer in Mithral Hall, made up of battleragers who turned their own bodies into weapons. Pwent quickly became their most infamous member — charging headfirst into enemy lines, laughing as his spiked armor did as much killing as any axe.
Yes, Pwent later became a vampire — a tragic turn for a character so rooted in dwarven honor. I was glad to see his story end, rather than watching him dragged on in dishonor as a blood drinker. Some warriors deserve a proper ending.
This song is wrath as joy, wrath as motion, wrath as impact.
⚒️🔥🩸
