Ep. 159 - Race is ON, Final Touches for Building the Bison Handling Facility | Blackacre Ranch

Getting the final touches done building the handling pens for the bison herd. The handling facility is needed to separate the calves asap and we are pushing hard to finish the welding and closing in the gathering pen. We decided to use continuous panels and also welding continuous panels to the posts directly. It's fairly simple to hang them into position with some tie down straps. They interlock together with some sleeves that slide through each rail. Continuous panels have been fast and great to work with so far.

Here on Blackacre Ranch we are city folk who moved to the country to start ranching bison (i.e. buffalo). We are a family with 6 kids. Our goals are to homestead the property, grow healthy food, and build good character along the way. We are new to homesteading and don't know much about it, but we are willing to share our struggles and journey as we learn how to homestead together. Think of this as homesteading for beginners where we are the beginners.

We are converting an old rundown church camp into a first generation ranch...profitable ranch that is. It's a whole new life and we are sharing it with you. We are prepping for larger animals such as bison, highland cattle, pigs and chickens.
