Had a email from First Light Trust - Let’s talk about Pride!

“Around May 2020, Gary at FLT received information about a veteran living in sheltered accommodation near to Lancaster University. Apparently the veteran had become more vulnerable than he usually was and may be in need of support. Gary located the veteran, and once Gary had got through the veterans stubbornness (A trait in every veteran, the truth came out).
Gary found that the veteran was struggling with his benefits and had resorted to hoarding all his paperwork rather than reading it.
However, battle commenced with the paperwork, and a bond was formed with the veteran. The happy end to the story is that 2 months later the veteran received back dated payments for his disability and mobility, and back dated and monthly payments from his Army pension.
On top of which he has personal help twice a week from Lancaster City Council regarding wellbeing. Unfortunately nobody can help with the stubbornness, apparently this is inherent in all veterans according to Gary
