Belt and Road: Hong Kong’s “Global City” Role

Hong Kong will play a very positive role in mainland China’s Belt and Road Initiative, says Vincent HS Lo, Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. He believes the plan “will change the face of the world” – and the fact that Hong Kong is home to many multinational companies, a strong services sector and an established platform for investment will project its “global city” credentials. The HKTDC, with 28 of its 46 offices along the Belt and Road and a new dedicated Belt and Road website, will play a facilitator role for those opportunities related to the initiative.
