Spokane is a reasonably affordable place to live. The cost of living in Spokane is slightly below the national average and about 30% lower than in Seattle.

Housing is 11% below the national average. The median cost of a house here is $425,000. You can rent a decent apartment for around $1100-$1300.

Food prices in Spokane are around 10% higher than the national average. This is probably due to the high minimum wage and high cost of transportation. An individual could eat well for $300-$350 per month.

Transportation in Spokane is 23% higher than the national average. This is because Washington has a high gas tax. You'll likely need a car to live here comfortably because the city is pretty spread out and public transportation is limited.
