Adventure is always more fun when friends are involved. Especially when those friends are the kind who ask if you want to camp on a deserted island in the middle of a lake. It was the last week of our UK shakedown tour, and we'd driven across the country to meet up with our friends Josh & Charlie in the Lake District. Fellow van lifers on the road, our schedules finally aligned for what would turn out to be one of the best weeks we've had in a long, long time!

We're Chesca and Ben and River (🐶 ) and we usually live full-time in our self converted sprinter van, Sophia. After a year of travelling Europe, from Spain and Portugal to the island of Sicily, the pandemic brought us back home to the UK. Along with a secret project we'd been planning! We plan to drive our tiny home on wheels all the way from Cornwall, UK to Cape Town, South Africa. Starting in late 2021, we first need to make some major upgrades to Sophia, stripping her right back to the insulation and giving her some beefy upgrades. Join us on our journey as we turn Sophia into an overlanding rig, ready to tackle whatever Africa can throw at us.
