Cut-Throats Nine (1972) - Horror Movie Recap

Our final horror western is going to be Cut-Throats Nine, released in 1972. In this horror movie recap we'll look at a classic, but long out-of-print spaghetti western that centers around a prison transport being used as a cover for smuggling gold from a mine to avoid detection by bandits. When separated from the regiment, Sgt. Brown finds himself attempting to navigate the wilderness with his young daughter and a chain gang of treacherous scumbags. Filled with style and atmosphere, this film works well as a western. However, concerned it may not have enough of the good stuff, the production company pushed the director to ramp up the gore to unreasonable levels. Thus, causing it to straddle the line between straight western and horror-tinged western.
