ON AN ISLAND MADE OF REEDS - Lake Titicaca - Puno - Peru

On an island made of reeds, we learn how the Uros people build their floating islands on the highest navigatable lake in the world, Lake Titikaka.

These Peruvian natives survived the Inka invasion on their boats, also made of reeds! This unique way of building is ingrained in their culture, we speak with a native that explains the difficulties of living on the island. They need to constantly be replacing the reeds every 10 to 15 days, and in order to do this, they work as a community - a very inspiring way of living and a must see in your lifetime.
