Visiting the Incredible Floating Islands of Lake Titicaca Peru | Uros Islands & Taquile Island

In this episode we’re hitting up Puno, Peru. And more specifically the man made Floating Islands of Uros which are made of reeds and Taquile Island, a UNESCO site known for its unique textile art.

We learn not only about the culture of the Uros people and also go for a ride in a classic Lake Titicaca reed boat, but also how the Floating Islands in Peru are built and maintained.

Then on Taquile Island Peru we meet the Taquileños communities and have a traditional lunch of quinoa soup, Lake Titicaca trout and try Muña tea. We learn about how their fascinating customs and how what they wear signifies whether they are married or not.

Watch on to discover why Puno Lake Titicaca simply has to be on your South America travel itinerary.
