PERU’S HUMANTAY LAKE and SACSAYHUAMAN INCAN RUINS (easy day trips from Cusco)

Cusco is one of the best cities in Peru for epic day trips! We completed the beautiful Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain two videos back, and this time, we are hiking to Humantay Lake and Sacsayhuaman. Humantay Lake was easiest completed through a tour company that included six-hour round-trip transportation, a bilingual guide, and all-you-can-eat breakfast and lunch buffets. You can book a tour to Humantay Lake for cheap in the city of Cusco— there are plenty of vendors in the downtown area, eager to get you on their tour! We decided to DIY our day trip to Sacsayhuaman, as it was within walking distance, and it would overall save us money if we did it ourselves. After doing some research on our own, we learned a bit on the history of the sacred citadel, and enjoyed a sunny day overlooking the city of Cusco with cute alpacas by our side. Add both of these destinations to your Cusco bucket list, if they aren’t already on it!
