EP50: Our 1,500KM Detour, was it worth it?! | Chinchilla, Mitchell, Charleville | Lap of Australia

We make our way inland again on a 1500Km detour to Charleville and back, lets hope our plans go ahead. We hit the road and our first stop is in the lovely town of Chinchilla, famous for their melons and home to the melon festival. While here we checkout the town and it’s time to get our 3rd jab, welcome to our jabs around Australia series!

Next, we head to Mitchell, another lovely outback Queensland town, famous for the fantastic Great Artesian Spas there, which we just had to try. We eventually made it to Charleville, some 750Km inland from the coast and our first stop was the amazing bilby experience which we absolutely loved.

Unfortunately, the weather started to arrive, heavy clouds and heavy rain, in a place where it hardly ever rained, we copped a lot! After a couple of days stuck in the caravan it was time to leave, we made the long trip back, stopping at Roma on the way, spending another night in Chinchilla, then ending the week in Toowoomba.

We are Hannah, Chris and dog Archie, setting off on a 12(ish) month trip around Australia - our BIG Staycation, with the whole of Australia as our backyard!
