Happy #internationalwomensday! President Kennedy worked to change the world, even for women!
The Commission on the Status of Women was created by President Kennedy on December 16, 1961 to investigate questions regarding women’s equality in education, in the workplace, and under the law. The commission was composed of 20 members appointed by the president from a pool of legislators and philanthropists who were active in women’s rights issues. The final report was presented to the president in October of 1963.
