The University in the Community - HIGHLIGHTS

University panelists describe what they have experienced and learned about the contributions of UH Manoa to the people of Hawai‘i since the start of the pandemic, and how this will change the university and our community for years to come --- e.g., new relationships; new levels of trust; new knowledge and new technologies for our teaching, our research, and our community service.

Speakers:
Michael Bruno is the Provost of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.

Lee Ellen Buenconsejo-Lum serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at JABSOM. Since March 2020, she has been the JABSOM and a UH liaison to numerous State committees, with HI-EMA and HDOH to assist with Hawai‘i’s and UH’s COVID-19 pandemic response.

Judith D. Lemus is a faculty Specialist at the Hawaiʻi Institute of Marine Biology, developing collaborative research, academic, and outreach programs for community members and students.

Moderator:
Robert Perkinson is an associate professor of American Studies at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and coordinator of the Better Tomorrow Speaker Series.
