How to Use Repetitive Listening to Rapidly Improve Your Korean Listening Comprehension
#repetitivelistening - Repetitive listening will help learners of any language at any level. Many people say "listening to something I don't understand at all is completely useless so there's no need to do it." I believe this is completely false. If that were the case, babies would never learn their mother tongue. How do babies learn? By frequent exposure to language they begin to pick up on patterns and after the meaning of those patterns start to become apparent to them. If you try out repetitive listening for yourself, you will start to notice the same thing. If you don't notice any results, here are some of the most likely reasons.
1. You are trying to understand. Babies do not try. They just pay attention.
2. You have not listened to the audio enough times. I find results after 20 or 30 times listening. And I still see results even after I've listened to a clip more than 100 times.
3. You may just not be aware of the benefits. You'll often notice them later on when speaking Korean or listening to someone speak in real life. It may seem like magically you're able to hear everything the other person is saying more clearly.
4. You may have chosen audio that is either bad quality, has lots of background noise, or the speaker may not have very clear pronunciation. Choosing good audio is key to utilizing this method.
