"Why Am I Having So Much Trouble Understanding Korean?" & How to Fix It With Habits
Understanding Korean is the key to learning Korean. Learning and understanding are just two sides of the same coin. Once a thing is understood, we call it learned. So in this video, my intention is to bring about a subtle paradigm shift: with the goal of understanding, which is the desired result of learning, one must therefore focus their efforts on listening. And, ironically, when actually listening, they must release the desire to understand. Why? Because understanding just happens. It is outside of one's conscious control. And it is my belief that most of the pain experienced by language learners is a result of a desire that cannot be met - an impossible goal - which is to understand something that cannot immediately be understood. One must have faith in the process and in themselves (read: repetitive listening and the brain respectively). So trust the path friends and watch the expansion.
