This lecture titled TRAUMA OUTSIDE EXPERIENCE is an overview of Part 4 of Chapter 4 of Alenka Zupančič's What Is Sex? In this lecture we cover the original idea of death drive as a compulsion to repeat traumatic experience, the difference between trauma with experience and trauma without experience, the origins of organic individuation as requiring death, and the persistent theoretical problems of understanding death drive as a prelude to the studies on Lacan and Deleuze.
