|| THIS EPISODE || In this episode, we share our story of how we got started on this journey to finding our SOMEDAY and give you guys a glimpse back in time to where our life together started!

Here is a list of our favorite places in Maine:

Acadia National Park is a must see when you are in Maine, though it isn’t the only thing on the list, so be sure to check out the other towns and places listed below!

- Bar Harbor
- Sunrise at Cadillac Mountain - one of the 2 places where the sun first touches the US
- Hikes - Beehive Trail is so much fun with ladders and rungs to get you up overlooking Mt Desert Island.
- To see the park, there is a one-way circle. It is a two lane road so you can pull off and stop anytime you want.

Boothbay Harbor - Bar Harbor isn’t all of Maine and if you can’t make it all the way up to Mt Desert Island, we actually prefer Boothbay Harbor. It is quintisential Maine in a smaller town. Other stops on Route 1 that we suggest are Rockport and Camden.

Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, ME - Sunrise at Portland Head Light (preferably with Tony’s Donuts Bismarks and cream horns from Bakers Bench) is a must! Be sure to walk the paths along the water and explore the rocks and old forts still there at Fort Williams.

Old Port of Portland, ME - Porland is awesome for all the foodies out there! We highly recommmend FlatBread as the food is all organic and the pizza is wood fired and the view on the back deck is amazing!

The Lobster Shack - We mentioned our friend Jeff’s restaurant, The Lobster Shack, which is a must stop if you are looking for some seafood and an incredible coastal veiw with your meal!

Do a Lobster Bake - Lobster rolls are great, but for the real experience, be sure to check out a lobster bake or steam them yourself and have someone teach you how to properly eat a lobster! It is quite an experience!

Get out on the water! - No matter where you are, we always recommend that you find away to get out on the water! If you can’t take a tour like we shared in our last episode, look up a local ferry. The ferry from Portland to Peak’s Island on Casco Bay is very inexpensive and takes almost the same route as the pricey tours.

Beaches - Maine also has incredible beaches. Higgins Beach in Scarborough is our favorite for donuts or a picnic, just make sure you are there for low tide. The beach goes from less than 50’ to about 1/2 a mile at low time, and it has great tide pools by the rocks. Corey and I used go all the time in high school, and we walked this beach in our tux and dress after our wedding. We also love Popham Beach State Park, too!

LL Bean - The flagstaff store of LL Bean is in Freeport, ME, and should definitely be a stop on your list. Grab some whoopie pies at Wicked Whoopie while you are there! Whoopie pies are a Maine staple and need to be experieced when there!

Eartha - If you have time to stop, you can check out the Guiness World Record holder for the biggest spinning globe in the world, Eartha in Yarmouth, ME. You can also see it on a drive down Route 1, which we also suggest for a scenic drive up the coast!

The White Mountains - The White Mountains of NH have amazing hikes, waterfalls and the drive down the Kancamagus Highway (Rt 112) is stunnng, especially if you can hit it in the fall with all the leaves changing.

Tolls - One more tip if you are driving up the East coast to get to Maine - don’t cross the Hudson any lower than I-84 or it gets really expensive especially with an RV. Check out our video where we go into more detail about tolls on the East Coast.
