To the 30th anniversary for the creative activity of People's Artist Olga Borodina.

Mariinsky Theatre ---- The renowned singer JOSE CURA comes to St.Petersburg specifically to perform in this production. Cura and Borodina have long collaborated as artists. They made their joint debut in the production of Carmen staged at the San Francisco Opera in 1996. Their voices can be heard on the recording of Samson et Dalila made by the Londen Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Sir Colin Davis. Cura and Borodina also sang Samson et Dalila together at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in 2003~2004. The performance was conducted by Emmanuel Villaume. He was also invited to take part in the on-stage celebration of Olga Borodina's artistic career at the Mariinsky Theatre.

JOSÉ CURA DEMONSTRATED THE ART OF DRAMATIC TENOR
St. Petersburg statements...08,05,2018 ----- Jose Cura demonstrated the art of a dramatic tenor, greatly shifting his accent to a dramatic one, as if he were cramped in the rules of the melodic line. The singer-actor, he very visibly held that part of the opera in which his hero was already blinded by his enemies. His singing bordered on sobbing, fueled by the "deadly anguish" in which Samson confessed. Cura decided the scene of the temple's destruction with surgical precision, resorting to the concise gesture of sharply raised hands: the pagan temple of Dagon was destroyed, detonating in deafening applause.
The audience after the final scene did not just explode with a deafening ovation - it roared like a football fans howling when they scored a long-awaited goal.!!!
