Welcome to my Stoat and Weasel livestream, keep your eyes peeled as you may only get a very quick sighting of my lightening quick rescue stoats, Whisper and Stuart, and my rescue weasel Chester.

Last week I opened up Whisper and Stuart's enclosure to give them access to the badger sett I started in 2016, and finished in 2019 (video here: https://youtu.be/hnam_ik57pk ). On the 12/11 I opened the badger sett to give them access to the wild, they tentatively started to explore the outside world the same day!

Chester enjoys scurrying about in the nooks and crannies of his enclosure!

Backstory: Due to my work with the Mustelid Rescue, an organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of stoats and weasels, I am no stranger to rescuing these bundles of fun, and Whisper and Stuart are no different.
Whisper (so called due to her incredible quiet nature) was put into my care when she was only about 4 weeks old, eyes still closed, unable to support her own head. In the beginning I was feeding Whisper every 3 hours, to help her grow and develop into a healthy adult stoat (video here: https://youtu.be/8C4y9j2U0L0 ) . I gave Whisper a small sleeping bag designed for small pets and placed a heat mat underneath it to keep her warm and allow her to feel safe (video here: https://youtu.be/58NUNCI6CME ) .
By 7 weeks, Whisper was truly becoming a stoat, her tail had the iconic black tip of a stoat and she began to explore and bite anything that she could. This is when Stuart comes into the picture, I drove to Lincolnshire to meet up with some people from Norfolk who had a stoat kit of a similar age – Stuart. It didn’t take long for these rescue stoats to form a very strong bond, through playing and spending time in the company of one another, they both grew in confidence (video here: https://youtu.be/hGCVZZZ8yx0 ).
By 10 weeks they had developed so well through playing and fighting, that it was time to move them into their new enclosure (videos here: https://youtu.be/8RpinakG17Y , https://youtu.be/SBhbgo5NjKI ).
On 5/11/11 Whisper and Stuart were granted access into the badger set and have taken the home renovation in their stride and are making the most of their new space!

Our weasel was rescued in the spring, from Chesterfield and was aptly named Chester!
About Me: I am a British wildlife artist based in Thixendale, North Yorkshire, UK. I build ideal habitats to encourage wildlife into my garden and use nest cams to study their behaviour. These studies inform my paintings. I share the best of my video research on this channel for free. If you would like to support my work please consider a small donation here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?cmd=_s...
Or of course you may like to purchase my artwork which you will find on my website: https://www.robertefuller.com. Many of the paintings are portraits of the creatures you watch here!
