MJX MG-1 4K GPS Drone with 2 Axis Gimbal and EIS Flight Test Review

This drone has a true 4K camera, and produces very stable video due to its combining a 2 axis stabilized gimbal with onboard electronic image stabilization. It's feature packed at a good price. Find it here https://bit.ly/MJXMG-1

Pros
- Small folding drone with a very nice carrying case for portability.
- Accurate GPS/GLONASS system with automatic return to home and landing on command, loss of signal, and low voltage.
- Optical flow system provides very steady hovering of the drone without need of the GPS. This came in handy several times during the flight when I had to manually fly the drone back due to my errors in improperly conducting the drone's compass calibration.
- Brushless 1503 2900KV motors for power, durability, and longevity.
- 7.7V 2950 mah battery provides about 25 minutes of flight time.
- 2 axis stabilized camera gimbal combined with onboard electronic image stabilization provides very steady video, even on a windy day.
- Onboard micro SD card writer providing recording capability without use of your phone.
- Camera records true 4K (3840 x 2160 pixel) video at 30 fps, and 1080p video at 60 fps.
- "X-Drone" app provides real time in-flight video viewed on your phone (requires 802.11ac WiFi capable phone). The app also provides advanced flight mode capabilities, such as follow me, circle position, waypoints, and headless mode. Find the app here on Google Play https://bit.ly/X-DronePlay , and here on the Apple App Store https://apple.co/3DPOWwb .
- The app also provides camera adjustments of brightness, saturation, special effects, ISO, and white balance settings. Video can also be switched between 4K and 1080p resolution with this app. The app also provides for calibration of the 2 axis gimbal.
- Advertised FPV video range is up to 450 meters. Control range is further at up to 600 meters. As this drone has an onboard SD card writer, you will still be able to record video and photos if you fly out of FPV range.
- Controller is switchable between Modes 1 and 2. The controller also includes an LCD screen that provides telemetry information of drone distance and height, GPS status, battery status, reception status.

Cons
- The drone's app requires use with a 802.11ac WiFi capable phone. Not all phone's have this capability. Before purchasing, it is important to first verify that your phone has this capability.
- FPV video lag of up to one second was apparent. The FPV video would also freeze on occasion, but would automatically reconnect when the signal improved.
- Weighs 372 grams, and will require registration in many countries.
- The drone's still photos are simple video frame grabs of the 4K video (3840 x 2160 pixel resolution).
