Make-A-Wish Taught Me Relentlessness | Josiah Sullivan | TEDxClemsonU

After surviving a rare, life-threatening heart condition and spending much of his childhood relearning how to walk, Josiah Sullivan shares how adversity, and his parents' relentlessness, can become sources of purpose rather than limitation. Through the personal experiences of physical struggle, failure, and ultimately finding his voice in storytelling, he explores how setbacks can fuel ambition and create lasting impact. Josiah Sullivan is a student at Clemson University with a passion for storytelling, writing, and leadership. Josiah found his voice through debate and oratory, competing nationwide and earning recognition for his work. He now serves on the Emerging Leaders Council for the Steamboat Institute, is an alumnus of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation for Debate, and writes as a journalist for The College Fix. Through his work, he encourages others to transform adversity into purpose and pursue their goals with determination. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
