Games That Bring Families Together | Aria Wang | TEDxEdgemont School

Most of us spend hours connecting with friends online but struggle to find that same spark at home. In this talk, eighth grader Aria Wang makes the case that three simple word games can do what social media cannot: bring families together through laughter, surprise, and shared silliness. Word games, she argues, are not just entertainment but a language of connection hiding in plain sight. Aria is an 8th grader who loves word games and the connections they create. She enjoys bringing her family together for “game nights,” where favorites like Hangman, Mad Libs, and Telephone spark laughter, creativity, and unexpected discoveries. Through these simple games, Aria believes families can learn more about one another, strengthen their bonds, and turn ordinary moments into memorable experiences. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
