STORMS and TORNADO DAMAGE in New Orleans - Arabi Louisiana

A large tornado touched down in New Orleans, LA after dark on March 22nd, resulting in significant damage. Several storms along the cold front had been moving through the state all day but remained mostly linear and non-severe. Sadly, a couple storms began rotating as they moved through the New Orleans area. One of the hardest hit areas was Arabi, an area that also greatly impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

I was visiting my Mother-in-law on this day. The storm passed over her house only an hour before it moved into New Orleans and developed the tornado. While I am grateful the storms did not produce tornadoes near us, I am very heart-broken for the community of New Orleans.
