Across the Alps on a Touring Bicycle - Day 1 Highlights (Fuessen to Lake Garda)

Highlights from the 1st day on the Fuessen to Lake Garda bike tour across the Alps! Following a 2-hour train ride from Munich to Fuessen (near the famous Neuschwanstein Castle), we hit the trail, and covered 37 km (23 miles), with 524 m. (1,709 ft.) of elevation gain. The trails are all very pleasant, with a lot of time spent on paved trails designated for bikes, as well as some dirt trails, some low-traffic country roads, and the main roads traveling through small, charming, peaceful villages.
