Guillermo del Toro movies are hard to categorize. Yes, Guillermo del Toro is a horror fan, as evidenced by films like Cronos, Mimic, Crimson Peak, The Devil’s Backbone, Pan’s Labyrinth, and other films featuring the legendary Guillermo del Toro monsters. But he’s also a master of action film, like in Pacific Rim, Hellboy, Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Blade 2, and more. And then there are the GDT films that defy categorization, like the Shape of Water. Either way, throughout the history of Guillermo del Toro, his biography is rife with innovation and excellence, and the director from Mexico is just getting started.
Throughout the evolution of Guillermo del Toro, he’s worked with some of Hollywood’s coolest celebs and collaborators like Ron Perlman and Dough Jones, which no bio would be complete without mentioning. But that’s still only scratching the surface of the facts of Guillermo del Toro’s career. Every trailer, clip, and scene of a Guillermo del Toro movie oozes with style, vision, and skill, and even his unrealized projects like Silent Hills, Halo, and the Witches would have been amazing movies if only he’d gotten to make them. Still, as far as celebrities and filmmakers go, there are few more talented than Guillermo del Toro, and now that he’s finally won an Oscar for Shape of Water, the future promises even more amazing projects, like Pinocchio, Trollhunters, Death Stranding, and beyond.
