Eurovision 1962 - United Kingdom
Ronnie Carroll performing "Ring-A-Ding Girl", the UK entry at the 1962 Eurovision Song Contest.
The second entry that year with a nonsensical title (along with Finland's "Tipi-Tii") is another cheery, uptempo song that manages to stick to the listener's mind (perhaps to an irritating degree!). Not among the UK's best, IMO, but it's still a cute number with a relaxed, easy-going performance by Ronnie Carroll, who would also represent the UK the following year (the only British artist to enter two years in a row), reaching 4th place on both occasions. I was also surprised to learn that he is currently the leader of a small political party, one "that advocates the abolition of Parliament in favour of devolution to city states and decision-making by referendum", according to Wikipedia!
