Antique Miter Trimmer Guillotine Cleanup Restoration

In this video I will be restoring an antique miter trimmer.

I was searching for a miter like this for many months. Finally I found this for only £10. Since the tool was so old I couldn’t bring myself to apply paint to it or even alter the casting in any way. After doing some research i came across a restorer that made a homemade danish oil to protect the metal. This was the perfect finish for me.
I began by painstakingly dismantling the tool followed by a thorough clean then a few hours in the sandblaster. After about 16 hours of work the cleanup / restoration was finished. Hopefully it will last another 100 years.
