MEP Guy Verhofstadt has said the UK EU Brexit trade deal is less than the EU wanted and claimed the UK will come back into the bloc in the future.
The bold claim comes as chief negotiators Lord David Frost and Michel Barnier present their deal to MPs and MEPs before a vt in both respective parliaments.
It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson and EU chiefs such as French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen agve their approval of the terms of the deal just in time before the end of the transition period on December 31st avoiding a no deal Brexit.

GUY VERHOFSTADT has about the historic Brexit trade deal between the EU and UK being than the bloc was hoping.
Today, the UK is celebrating after the Prime Minister has managed to a Brexit trade deal with the EU, days before the end of the transition period on December 31st. Following news of the deal, MEP Guy Verhofstadt that the deal is “than we wanted”.
He tweeted: “Finally a historic and deal in the interest of all is reached.
“While than we wanted, through it fully the single market.
“Thanks to Michel Barnier our Union came out of these negotiations more united and stronger.
“I hope future UK politicians will build on this partnership so we can the close relationship [the EU and UK] deserves.
“It will be a first step in the return of the UK into the European family.”
Announcing the deal, a Downing Street source said: "Deal is done.
"We have taken back control of our money, borders, laws, trade and our fishing waters.
"The deal is fantastic news for families and businesses in every part of the UK.
“We have signed the first free trade agreement based on zero tariffs and zero quotas that has ever been achieved with the EU.
"We have delivered this great deal for the entire United Kingdom in record time.
It comes as Brexit Party Leader Nigel Farage was also seemingly happy with the outcome of the historic deal.
Mr Farage said in a recent interview: "The is over whether we are going to be part of the European or not.
"And now we are out and with a new that is a bit closer to a partnership agreement.
"It is not perfect but goodness me it is still progress."
Ireland's Foreign Minister Simon Coveney welcomed the deal and said there will not be a hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic.
Mr Coveny also said Ireland's place in the Single Market remains.
While many will be celebrating the Brexit deal, others have to the agreement.
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon used the historic agreement to make a call for Scottish independence.
She tweeted: "Before the spin starts, it's worth remembering that Brexit is happening Scotland.
"And there is no deal that will ever for what Brexit.
"It's time to chart our own future as an independent, European nation."
