EU fishermen have begun to turn on French President Emmanuel Macron and his position on fisheries in the Brexit trade deal negotiations.
Mr Macron has stated the UK has been offered too much already by giving British vessels only 25% return of their current catch in UK waters. An offer that was called “not even close” by one UK official.
Chief negotiators Lord David Frost and Michel Barnier are continue to try and unlock the impasse in Brussels over the main sticking points of state aid, fisheries and the so called level playing field.
The negotiating teams were given a green light to continue trade talks after Prime Minister Boris Johnson and EU chiefs such as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Angela Merkel sent the teams back to the table to try and find common ground on the remaining issues.

EMMANUEL Macron has Brexit trade talks to the with his to drop for access to Britain's fishing waters as EU fishermen on the French President.
Mr Macron was said to be in because he feels that the European Union has already given too much ground in the over the UK’s fishing waters. The French stance has left EU Brexit chief Michel Barnier with little room to manoeuvre as his efforts to broker a trade and with Britain enter the endgame. Mr Barnier was said to have made a final offer to guarantee Britain 25 per cent of the £590million worth of fish caught by European boats in UK coastal waters each year.
Mr Barnier asked for the new arrangements to be phased in over seven years, with the ability to Britain with tariffs if EU fishermen are of UK waters in the future.
An EU diplomat said Emmanuel Macron would because he feels too much ground on fisheries has already been given.
The insider said: “That’s exactly why I don’t think Macron will budge substantially after already moving on fish already.”
With Britain rejecting the current EU offer, the diplomat added: “My guess is no deal with the potential of returning for talks after Christmas depending on in the UK.”
It comes as EU fishermen turn on the French President’s stance in the negotiations with most they will because of Mr Macron’s position on fisheries.
Louis Leprtre, a fisherman in Boulogne, told AFP: "How do I see Brexit? It’ll be a hard Brexit. But we hope there will be some arrangements because otherwise it will be for us.
"We fish 60 to 70 percent on the British side, we hope there will be a deal.
"If a no deal Brexit passes, I don't see much of a future for me. I think I'll have to retrain for another profession."
Another French fisherman, Nicolas Margolle said: "If there's a no deal it's going to be because European boats won't have access to British waters anymore."
"So, we're all going to find ourselves in the French strip – with all the Belgian, Dutch boats, the French, of course.
"There's never going to be enough room for everyone. And so the resources are going to be.
With just over a week left until the end of the transition period, many fear a no deal is as the European Parliaments latest of Sunday passed with no agreement on the table.
German MEP, David McAllister, head of the EU Parliament’s Brexit committee, last night that time had run out for the assembly to a Brexit deal before the end of the year when the UK’s transition out of EU rules is completed.
He said: “We have just learned that there will be no agreement today.
“Therefore, the European Parliament will not be in a position to grant to an agreement this year.”
