LA traffic has nothing on Viet Nam. I've hear that India is more insane. Viet Nam traffic is essentially no traffic lights, go where you want, but slowly, and traffic will go around you.

On the one hand, this seems elegant and natural, but it means everything slows down to a safe pace so that errors are insignificatnt, even if frequent. But on the other hand, traffic must move at a safe pace so nobody reaches 30 mph.

In LA, you may average 25mph and stop safely at every light (barring that mofo that does not make the left through the yellow). It might actually make sense to do away with lights and just brute force everything.

The whole time I was in Viet Nam, I only saw one accident, and the guy arguably killed himself (not an exaggeration) by being stupid.
