Dr Daria Kuss talks about the cyberpsychology, why people behave the certain way on the Internet and how their behaviour, cognitions and emotions could be impacted by the technology use. She draws the attention to the "always on" lifestyle and the importance of social networking for the sense of belonging, and gives advice on how to protect yourself from the negative effects of social media. Dr Daria Kuss is a Chartered Psychologist, Chartered Scientist and Associate Professor in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. She has an international reputation as Internet addiction expert, and is an award-winning author, with her books Internet addiction – Evidence-based practice in psychotherapy (Hogrefe) and The Oxford Handbook of Cyberpsychology (OUP) having been published in 2019. Her research has been covered in international news outlets, including the New York Times, The Washington Post, and the BBC.
