The Helgas Band is from a small inland village called 'Gabadi', in the Central Province. Helgas was one of the first bands to record with CHM in the early 80s, Helgas was formed over 25 years ago and is still bringing on the hits today.

Thousands of music lovers and especially those in the Central Province have grown up listening to the familiar strong, clear voices of lead female vocalists Glenda Gaoma and Tau Oala.

Formed in the 70s, Helgas have chosen to stick with their original style of traditional and local string band music unlike many bands form this era, assuring fans that their sound will not be over-modernized although as all things, the band has gone through changes especially in their band composition – recruiting several members of the Gaoma family – to carry on the Helgas dream.
