Hurricane Hanna is moving inland over Southern Texas after making landfall in the state at about 5pm CDT earlier today. While still a hurricane, Hanna is expected to lose that status soon, and should rapidly weaken as it moves into Mexico before dissipating.

However, life-threatening conditions are still occurring. Hurricane force winds are happening over land right now along with storm surge mostly to the north of the center of circulation. Torrential rainfall is also happening with an additional 10-15 inches of rain expected in parts of Southern Texas, with amounts up to 20 inches possible in either far Northern Mexico or Southern Texas.
