Tropical Depression Eight Almost a Tropical Storm

Tropical Depression Eight has become better organized throughout the day, and while the current intensity is still at Tropical Depression strength, it is expected by the National Hurricane Center that the next recon plane will upgrade the system to a Tropical Storm. This would make the system Tropical Storm Hanna, and would be the earliest H named storm on record.
The largest threat from the system is heavy rainfall totals up to 10 inches localized along parts of coastal Texas that can cause flash flooding. This is up from last night along with the rain forecast from the region, which sits at 4-6 inches along large portions of the coastline compared to the prior expectation of 2-4 inches. This risk also extends to parts of coastal Louisiana. Interests in Texas and Louisiana should monitor the development of Tropical Eight and refer to their local weather office about information on their specific location.
