Paneer is especially loved by every vegetarian in India. It has a special status (for those who do not eat meats) for its nutritional value, creamy texture and rich flavor. Palak has a special place on every Indian restaurant menu for its rich, creamy and rustic flavors.
I have come to love this so much that I cooked palak (spinach) with Tofu, Ricotta, Mozzarella, fish, red and white meats. The recipe stays as it is and experiment with protein or veg of your choice. There are no set rules. Except that you cook with the best and FRESH ingredients.
Here is my recipe for Palak Paneer. I bet you can cook a delicious spinach curry as good as mine if you watch this video and follow the recipe. It is an EASY one. Let me know if any questions.
Recipe
Serves 3-4
Paneer Cheese 250g
2-3 tbsp vegetable oil/ghee
8-10 cloves of garlic
2 green chilies
2 onions
1 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 dried red chilies
1/4 tsp asafoetida (heeng powder)
Spinach Puree
200g spinach leaves (fresh)
50g fresh coriander leaves
2 green chilies
1 1/2 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 single cream
1 tsp crushed dry fenugreek leaves
water as required
salt to taste
