What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a type of psychotherapy based on the idea that how we think affects how we feel and behave. Mental health counselors use CBT to address problems such as depression, anxiety, addictions, and more. This video provides an overview of the theory underpinning Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and how it is actually applied in session. Each section provides examples to make CBT easy to understand.
