VLOG: MY 13-DAY JOURNEY TO GERMANY VIA ITALY (direct travel to Germany from the UK was NOT allowed!)

Three weeks ago I *finally* physically started my semester in Germany, and it was all thanks to Italy for still allowing ordinary Brits to travel there when I went, even though Germany didn't. My 13-day journey to Germany via Italy was an absolute saga to say the least, and I hope I can share a little bit about what it's like to travel internationally in 2021 in this vlog. Enjoy!

When I travelled (and it would still be the case now as I'm not double-vaccinated) it was impossible to go to Germany directly from the UK, even if you quarantined (unless you were travelling to Germany for an emergency reason, and studying abroad doesn't count!). In order to be allowed into Germany, because of covid, I had to spend 10 days outside of the UK immediately before trying to enter.

Furthermore, I was still paying rent in Berlin for accommodation I wasn't using (and couldn't get out of) and I thought enough was enough. I might as well try and get into Germany. I literally had nothing to lose. So this is the vlog of that...
