Two Nights Solo Bushcraft Trip | Viking Bushcraft, Storm, Camp Cooking, Relaxing, Carving, Hiking
- EYELIGHTS -
Return to the Wayfaring Stay + Two nights under a sailcloth shelter in the fall + Triple thick bony bacon + Rainbow trout jerky + Slow-cooked quail on a spit + Campfire lounging + Carving an idol + Chopping wood + Hiking + Swamplands + Cedarlands + Preparing for a permanent shelter build+ Norse/Viking/Medieval stuff + Reindeer skin + Sheepskin + Handmade clothes + Handmade containers + Handmade framesaw
- NOTES -
I return to the Wayfaring Stay and arrive late after a long hike during a fall storm. Hail and high winds prevailed. I set up a quick sailcloth shelter and eat a traditional stew made of mushrooms, peas, and barley. The night was a windy one with continuous rain and some snow. The next day was spent resting, eating, and gathering wood and water. I began collecting large cedar logs for a permanent shelter that I hope to finish before winter. I carried out some very minor bushcraft (spit shelf) and carving (a pocked idol). This was mostly a relaxing trip (except for the storm).
