Dozens of catholics congregated at Paris' Saint-Sulpice church on Sunday to demand a relaxation of the lockdown measures as to be able to celebrate Mass.

Under the slogan 'We want the Mass,' believers congregated and listened to a priest who officiated an open-air prayer, as children laid candles at the feet of Saint-Sulpice church.

Since France entered a second lockdown on October 30, the government prohibited public meetings in the country's religious buildings.

Currently in France, measures in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus ban the collective celebration of religious services, with the exceptions of funerals and weddings - which can be held with limited attendance only.
