Music for Valentine's: Chopin's Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, No. 2
What had been a fertility festival in ancient Rome has evolved into what we now know as Valentine's Day. Short of being a national holiday, it's celebrated in many countries and cultures as a day for couples. The whole month of February has been observed as a month of romance.
As we shelter in place or quarantine ourselves in lockdowns, here's one music for everybody's enjoyment - Chopin's best-known composition Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, No. 2. A song adaptation titled To Love Again was released in 1956 by the American singing group The Four Aces. Chopin composed this nocturne when he was around twenty years old.
